Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway up to the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine's name is Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician by playing and singing at the local church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training in the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You the House, came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and has become a staple of her live shows. She has also contributed her voice to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the choir leader of the production. Sunshine became the focus of attention during four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
